so today, i got to see our fine police force at work.

we're on the service road, trying to get on Forest so we can go back to 635. not a big deal, really. there's about 3 turn lanes on the left, 2 lanes that go straight only and then one turn lane to go right onto Forest. we get in the left-most lane so we can turn on Forest, going under 75. only, about every 3rd car in our lane is at a cock-eyed angle, either trying to get out of the lane or get into it. what makes no sense is that the lane to the right of us is also a left turn lane. as a matter of fact, anyone in that lane HAS to go left. anyone in OUR lane HAS to go left but also has the brilliant option of making a sharper left once under the bridge, to do a U-Turn. lovely. not a bad idea, that. ok. then the THIRD left turn lane people have the choice of turning with us or going straight. brilliant idea. there's a car next to us that pulls ahead as someone in their lane turns and decides to cut us off, nearly causing themselves to be t-boned by our front end. because they MUST turn left!! it's an emergency!! if they had stayed in their own lane, they would have been forced to go... left. hrm. no real reason to cut us off unless they suddenly realised they wanted to make a u-turn. they didn't. anyways. on the other side of Forest, under the bridge, there are 3 police cruisers and a police motorcycle. all unmanned. after hearing my mother say 'what an ASSHOLE!' and my dad saying 'stupid FUCKER!!' it seemed like a fitting thing to have any cops that COULD have pulled this idiot over for reckless driving away from their vehicles.

no. to top it off, they were just 20 feet from their cars, drinking coffees and eating donuts, sitting on the median barrier under the bridge. as another vehicle made an illegal u-turn around them.

fucking pigs.
